Zesty Sloppy Joes

2 pounds extra lean ground beef

1 large bell pepper, chopped

2 cans (14 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained

2 (8 oz) cans tomato sauce

1 (6 oz) can tomato paste

2-TBSP Worcestershire sauce

1-TBSP Splenda sweetner

2-tsp celery seed

2-tsp onion powder

1-tsp paprika (sweet or smoked works best)

1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

3 bay leaves

Hamburger buns


In a Dutch oven over medium heat, brown meat and bell peppers. Drain. Stir in tomatoes, tomato sauce, and seasonings. Bring to a boil. reduce heat and cook over low heat for 30 minutes.

Uncover; cook 30 to 40 minutes or until thick. Discard bay leaves. Serve 1/2 cup on each bun.

6 g fat, 28 mg cholesterol, 547 mg sodium, 31 g carbs, 4 g fiber, 16 g protein
